We’re All Mad Here (PDF)

We’re All Mad Here is designed to use a single skein of sock yarn. The simple patterning allows you to use a solid or variegated yarn.
The first 90 rows are worked back and forth across the whole row. After that you will work a series of simple short rows to accentuate the center point of the shawl. (If you have additional yarn you can continue to work these as full rows which will also add to the overall wingspan length.) Once the short rows are complete you will work a few more full rows to tie it all together and add a little more length on the wingspan.
Because of where the wraps fall they will blend in to the stitches, so you may pick them up and work them on the next return row, or leave them be (I left mine). Your favorite short row method is fine. I used a standard wrap and turn.

The body of the shawl uses 3 colors of seed beads. These may be left off. I chose to finish my shawl with a beaded bind off for extra pizzazz. I also find the extra weight of a beaded bind off nice for a fingering weight shawl. If you don’t want to bead the edge simple substitute your favorite stretchy bind off.
