Walk This Way

Type: Knitting Pattern PDF Download

Pattern #2 from Walk This Way (2016 sock club).

Direction: Top down

This two-color sock features one solid and one variegated colorway. (You may choose to use two solid colors instead.) The solid color will be referred to as the Main Color (MC) and will be the yarn that shows in the foreground of the brioche cable on the leg. Once you reach the foot both colors will have an even prescence with the MC being used for the heel and the Coordinating Color (CC) used for the toe.

To achieve the neccessary gauge in the different stitch types you will need to use a few needle sizes. Take the time to check your gauge before starting to avoid a sock that’s too tight or too floppy to wear.

US 2 / 2.75mm needles (heel and toe)
US 3 / 3.25mm needles (heel setup, foot setup, and foot)
Adjust needle size to obtain correct gauge.

On smallest needles: 36 sts & 80 rnds = 4” in brioche

On middle needles: 40 sts & 44 rnds = 4” in single color stockinette

On largest needles: 40 sts & 40 rnds = 4” in colorwork foot pattern

Note: Using larger needles can easily create a larger foot circumference without adjusting the stitch counts in the sock.
