Part of the Pick Your Poison Collection

Pattern includes written and charted instruction.

This pattern is written for a shawlette (shown in photos), shawl, or scarf.

Choosing Yarn
For the shawl style: If you substitute yarn make sure to pick something that will block out nicely. A 100% merino or other wool fiber is recommended. Plant fibers (cotton, bamboo, linen, etc.) are not advised because they will not bloom and retain the necessary shawl shape during blocking.

For the scarf style: Non wool fibers will work for the scarf since it does not rely on blocking to the extent that the shawl style does. If you think your yarn won’t block out to a sufficient width you can easily cast on another 18 (or multiple repeats of 18) and work more repeats across each row.

Blocking is essential to this design. The stitch pattern causes the edges to wave and curl in some places you’ll want it to and some places that will need to be straightened out. Don’t be afraid to pull and stretch your knitting.
