Frosting PDF

Part of the Sweet Treats Collection

This shawlette is the frosting to your wardrobe, a simple little confection to top it all off. The idea behind this design was to capture delicate feminine details without going decadently over the top.

Frosting is a side to side knit shawlete pattern. This means you begin with only a few stitches, increase toward the center, and then decrease as you complete the second half of the wingspan.

At first glance at the directions you might not think this pattern belongs to a collection of simple knits. However, once you get going (and most especially after Row 15) your knitting should become pretty intuitive. The Bird’s Eye edging that adorns the “V” (increase) edge of the shawlette is a six-row repeat. In an effort to help keep this clear during the set up rows I have placed a line break to show the repeats of this section.
