Using Smaller Needle
19 sts & 12 rows = 2” x 1.6” in brim cable pattern relaxed
Using Larger Needle
24 sts & 11 rnds = 3.25” x 1.75” in hat pattern
US 5 / 3.75mm needles (straight or circular) US 6 / 4mm 16” circular needle and dpns, or needles for working in the rnd.
Adjust needle size to obtain correct gauge.
Tapestry needle for weaving ends
Amber Waves begins by working flat (in rows) for the bottom cabled band. Stitches for the upper portion are then picked up along the edge of the cable and joined for working in the rnd.
As worked (at gauge) the hat measures 7.5” in length. To add or subtract a bit of length alter the amount of rnds worked even. (Noted in pattern.)
